SIMRAN THIARA LEADERSHIP REPORT CARD

I am more of a quiet leader but I still help with coming up with ideas; like the chocolate lollipops from Purdys! I've come to every blackberry removal, the food bank, the tree planting and the corn maze. My personal favorite would have to be the food bank! I loved handing out food and giving extra little treats to the young kids. The corn maze was also one of my favorites, it felt good to pick the vegetable and know how so many low-income families would have the fresh vegetable on their plates for dinner. I feel that I could work on being more vocal in the class. I think that I am very good at participating in activities, such as the banner for 'Whisker Wednesdays'. While in this class, I've learned a lot, about myself and about other people. I've learned that I love working with people, I love watching their expressions while recieving something. I've learned about a young girl named Malala Yousafzai, whom is now a big inspiration in my life. From the vido Mr.Vaughan showed the class, she taught me that one should never take anything for granted. Outside of class I have been to downtown Hastings, Vancouver on numerous occations handing out sandwiches and hot soup to the homeless. Myself, my mom and my two older sisters make the sandwiches and soup ourselves with the help of my moms friends. I am also hoping to volunteer at the SPCA very soon. I think overall I deserve an A in this class.

  1. What a great humanitarian act - and to do it as a family is very cool. You indeed have been a quiet contributor throughout the semester and I support your desire to be more vocal in public contexts. This must be the #1 skill that class-member cite as needing improvement. I hope that this is just the beginning of your leadership journey Simran and I look forward to you final assessment post. Please give the leadership CoOp serious consideration for grade 11.
